Babbitt Family, Friends Establish $22,000 Endowed Scholarship

The Blinn College Foundation recently received a donation from the family and friends of Auggie Babbitt to establish a $22,000 endowed scholarship.

The Auggie Darr Babbitt Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Scholarship was established by family and friends in honor of Babbitt, who provided many years of service and dedication to the physical therapy profession and her community. Babbitt pioneered and was instrumental in the establishment of the Blinn College PTA Program and in achieving initial accreditation. She devoted herself to transferring invaluable physical therapy knowledge from the classroom to the clinical setting in order to improve the quality of patient care and volunteered countless hours to assist students in preparing for the state licensure exam.

The scholarship will be awarded to an exemplary second-year student in the PTA program who demonstrates financial need.
Established in 2000, the Blinn College Foundation, Inc. is organized for the sole purpose of providing support for programs and activities which enhance the quality of education for Blinn College students and expand the educational opportunities for the entire community.

While raising funds is an important function, Blinn College Foundation also seeks to heighten community awareness of the mission and accomplishments of the college and to promote excellence in education.
