Authorities in Brazos County say the body found in the northeastern part of the county Wednesday evening was that of a College Station teen.
Sheriff Chris Kirk says "circumstantial evidence" found by investigators lead them to believe the body was that of Santos Az Xec. He had last been seen on December 1 as he left his apartment on Holleman Drive.
The body was discovered by a property owner off of Tabor Road near Wagon Wheel Road.
Az Xec was employed at a restaurant in Post Oak Mall, but his vehicle was found at his apartment complex. He had not shown up for work, according to his employer.
A cause of death has not yet been released, and foul play has not been ruled out.
Kirk says dental records or DNA will be used to confirm the identity. An autopsy was done by the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office, and results of forensic and toxicology testing are pending.
Brazos County investigators are working with College Station detectives on the case.
