A pair of first-time candidates are seeking to represent Texans in five counties in a newly-drawn district for the State House.
District 12 encompasses rural portions of Brazos and McLennan Counties, and in between them, includes Robertson, Falls and Limestone Counties.
Kyle Kacal won a runoff for the Republican nomination. He faces Democrat Robert Stem, a Waco attorney from Falls County.
Kacal appeared on First News at Four Wednesday. Stem was on the program Monday.
Kacal is a rancher in Brazos County and a graduate of Texas A&M University, along with Texas Christian where he got his ranch management certificate. He has served on a number of boards, including Allen Academy and the Texas Beef Extension.
