This week's Brazos Valley Bucket List takes us to the Southern Flyer Diner in Brenham. it's a 50's themed restaurant.
It's attached to the Brenham airport, but most of the regular customers have no plans to hop on a plane anytime soon. About 80% of the customers drive in to eat there, while just 20% fly in.
What keeps the regulars coming back? Well, the burgers and hand-spun Blue Bell ice cream milk shakes are defintely a draw, but it's the worker's uniforms customers really get a kick out of.
Those outfits consist of poodle skirts and saddle oxfords. Some of the youngest customers get so excited about the waitress uniforms that they come to the restaurant also dressed up in sock-hop attire!
There is a juke box in the middle of the restaurant playing authentic 50s tunes as well.
The restaurant is open every day, but only for lunch.
The hours are 11am - 3pm.
