Bryan City Council Delays Vote on Selling Historic Ice House

BRYAN The old Bryan Ice House in the north part of the Downtown Historic District is close to being re-developed.

But the Bryan City Council Monday night delayed voting on a plan to sell the historic property to the Brazos Valley Decorative Center.

That company plans to renovate the building, while keeping the original architecture in tact.

It would become a restaurant or entertainment venue along with retail shop and will serve as an anchor for redevelopment in the north end of Downtown Bryan.

But city council members want to ask more questions of the potential buyer, and a special meeting is set for next Tuesday.
