BRYAN The runoff election to elect a City Councilmember from Single Member District Two will be held on Tuesday, December 17. Voting will take place in the Bryan Municipal Building located at 300 South Texas Avenue in Bryan. The polling location will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on December 17. Only voters residing in City of Bryan Single Member District Two can vote in the runoff election between Perry Stephney and Rafael Pena III. Those voters live and are registered to vote in county voting precincts 4, 19, 25, 30, 38, 43, 45, 46 or 47.
Since none of the City Council candidates for Single Member District Two obtained a majority vote in the general election held on November 5, the names of the two candidates receiving the most votes will appear on the runoff ballot. Stephney garnered 45.51 percent of the votes cast in SMD #2 during the general election voting, while Pena received 32.53 percent of the votes cast in that race.
Early voting will also be conducted in the Bryan Municipal Building, 300 South Texas Avenue as follows:
Tuesday, December 10 - 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 pm
Wednesday, December 11 - 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, December 12 - 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Friday, December 13 - 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Voters must now present one of the following forms of photo identification when voting in person:
Texas driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety;
Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety;
Texas Personal Identification Card issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety;
Texas Concealed Handgun License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety;
U.S. military identification card containing the voter's photograph; or
United States passport.
