Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd between Harlem Lane and Bowery Street will be closed starting Monday Nov. 26 in Bryan.
The closure is required in order to replace the drainage culverts at this location with a substantially larger structure to provide needed flood protection in this area. The repairs will also provide a safe and secure traffic route during severe rainfall.
The closure should last 4 to 6 weeks depending on weather.
There will be a 2-way traffic detour using Columbus Avenue, West 17th Street, and Harlem lane.
This work is part of a nearly $352,000 project identified by the Bryan Storm Water Master Plan to increase flood protection and safety. It's funded by the City's Drainage Utility Fee and Transportation Fee.
