Firefighters from all parts of the country are honoring two of Bryan's finest killed in the line of duty.
News 3 captured the half mile procession of firefighters, first responders, and supporters that traveled to the memorial service Wednesday.
It's a brotherhood and special bond for all those who wear the uniform as firefighters and first responders.
A sea of solidarity lined the streets of Bryan / College Station as Bryan Firefighters Eric Wallace and Greg Pickard were remembered with full funeral honors.
Fellow firefighter Eric Juergen was with Wallace Friday night in the burning Knights of Columbus Building.
In this moment he carried his friend's helmet in the procession.
"One of the first things I wanted to do. I felt that you know it's just an honor, it's an extreme honor. It's a privilege you know people cannot say it enough, he was an awesome man and he will be dearly missed and it is my privilege and my honor to carry this for him," Juergen said.
The show of support and words of encouragement seems to bring out the best in all of us.
"You guys keep hearing it. But from the bottom of our hearts the Bryan Fire Department appreciates all the support from the public, the fire departments. It means a lot. Thank y'all," said Juergen.
A walk to remember and reflect on two brave men who lived life courageously.
Eric Wallace's funeral is set for Thursday at 10 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Bryan.
Greg Pickard's is set for Friday at 10 A.M. at Central Baptist Church in College Station.
