BRYAN - A Bryan man says he didn't know that a dog was tied to his truck while he was driving down Highway 21 Sunday.
Police say Wualter Silva Samano, 24, is facing animal cruelty charges after another driver called 9-1-1 saying he was dragging a dog behind his truck.
According to the arrest report, the other driver told Silva the dog was there. Silva pulled over, untied the dog and left it on the side of the road. He told police he didn't stop to help the dog because he was scared.
Silva also said the dog belonged to one of his neighbors and that his nieces or nephews might have tied the dog to his truck.
The animal had road rash cover almost 40 percent of its body.
