BRYAN- The Bryan Independent School District Board of Trustees Monday night approved a pay raise for teachers and counselors.
School District Spokesman Brandon Webb says the raises average about 1.5% for teachers with one year of experience and up.
The board approved the administration’s recommendation for teacher, diagnostician, counselor and speech pathologist salaries.
Teacher salary increase in step 1 of an employee’s service, from $41,500 in 2013-14 to $41,750 in 2014-15.
Subsequent salary steps increase, as well. The increase reflects approximately a 1.5% increase in pay.
Salary increases will be considered in the years ahead based on the findings and recommendations that result from a strategic compensation study the district is engaged in.
Diagnostician, counselor and speech pathologist salaries increase in step 1 from $45,000 in 2013-14 to $45,250 in 2014-15. Subsequent steps increase, as well.
