Bryan City Council Adds New Restrictions To Personal Care Homes

Updated: Wed 3:06 PM, Apr 25, 2012

Home health care homes are being allowed to stay in Bryan with a new rule.

Tuesday night the Bryan City Council voted to amend rules for the nursing homes in residential areas and restrict them from being allowed in Residential Neighborhood Conservation Districts, or R-NCs.

Some neighbors have objected to the personal care homes in recent months.

The now closed Rose Home on Pease Street in Bryan came under scrutiny in 2010 after allegations of mistreatment.

The owner Rose Rodriguez is expected to face trial later this year for perjury.
