Bryan honored its firefighters at an event Monday evening.

Employees and firefighters gathered at Briarcrest Country Club to recognize their service to the department.

They honored the members who had served with them the longest and paid special tribute to apparatus operator Jonas Brooks, who earned "Firefighter of the Year". He was recognized for his expert and safe driving, and for his service as an instructor in the department.

It was the first event since Mike Donoho retired as Bryan's fire chief. Randy McGregor is serving as the interim chief currently.
