Mosquitoes from near a Bryan park have tested positive for the West Nile Virus.

A sample of bugs collected June 27 from the north side of Sue Haswell Park off of William J. Bryan Parkway were tested by the Brazos County Health Department and came up as having the disease.

Department officials continue to stress that the entire county is positive for West Nile. In June, a trio of samples collected around the Texas A&M campus were positive for WNV.

To help prevent mosquitoes around your area:

- drain standing water
- wear insect repellent with DEET
- stay indoors at dusk and dawn (mosquitoes' most active times of day)
- dress with long sleeves and pants
