A Bryan woman is out on bond after being arrested for stealing money and merchandise from the College Station Wal-Mart.
20-year-old Nikki Lee Leydecker, of Bryan, was arrested Tuesday after College Station Police say she admitted to stealing over $2,000 in cash and merchandise between August and September.
According to the arrest record, Leydecker admitted to the Wal-Mart Asset Protection Manager that she stole the money because her fiance didn't have a job. She said she used the money to pay bills.
Wal-Mart has surveillance video and accounting records that show Leydeck pocketing money, ringing up merchandise without paying and, in some cases, just taking merchandise like pants and CDs.
Leydecker was arrested and charged with theft of property greater that $1,500 but less than $20,000. She was booked into the Brazos County Jail on Tuesday on $5,000 bond and posted bond the same day.
