An area police chief has been arrested, accused of falsifying a government document.
James Blackmon serves as chief in the Milam County town of Buckholts. Around 4:15 p.m. Thursday, he was arrested at the police department without incident and taken to the Milam County jail.
Officers with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) obtained the warrant for Blackmon's arrest from a Milam County justice of the peace.
No other details are known about the charge, which is a Class A misdemeanor.
Blackmon bonded out of jail Thursday night after posting $2,500.
According to the latest census, Buckholts has a population just more than 500. It is about ten miles west of the county seat of Cameron.
