After being arrested for allegedly tampering and falsifying government records, there's more bad news for Buckholts' police Chief James Blackmon.
After a two hour meeting on Sunday, the Buckholts city council voted to suspend Blackmon.
For 60 days, Blackmon will be on paid suspension pending the investigation's completion. The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education investigated Blackmon after questions arose regarding the number of full-time officers listed on the city's police roster.
Officers need to have full-time employment status, in order to qualify for private security jobs. Blackmon joined the force in 2010.
