Burton Man Arrested for Stealing $75,000 in Tools

WASHINGTON COUNTY A Burton man is in jail after allegedly stealing $75,000 worth of tools.

Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak says 35-year-old Jarvis Deshawn Burns, of Burton, is in the Washington County Jail following his arrest for the theft of approximately $75,000 worth of oil well centralizer tools.

On Tuesday, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglary and vehicle theft on Gideon – Linecum Road. Deputies identified the suspect as Jarvis Burns, conducted an interview with him and seized the stolen oil well tools with the exception of two diamond-tipped drill bits.

Burns was arrested and charged with theft and is currently being held on an $8,000 bond, which was set by Justice of Peace Roy May.

The Sheriff says that additional charges are anticipated.
