The College Station City Council on Thursday approved a plan to develop a Medical District anchored by the new Scott and White Hospital and the College Station Medical Center.

Planners would like to see more medical office parks, lofts and mixed urban residential areas complete with retail businesses.

It's a decades-long plan that would require an estimated 58- million dollars in infrastructure for new roads and sewer lines.

It would be funded in part by the city government, along with private development.
