COLLEGE STATION Sales tax revenue for the city of College Station is up significantly, according to city management.
The receipts tracked during the month of August in which Texas A&M University played one football game against Rice are a little more than $50,000 more than last August - that's a 3 percent increase. And the year-to-date numbers show 2013 is more than 7 percent higher than the previous year.
The city says it's looking forward to seeing October receipts, which will show September sales that reflect three home football games, including the much-anticipated matchup against the University of Alabama.
