CS Officer Sheets To Be Honored By State

Retired College Station Police Officer Tracy Sheets will receive the Star of Texas Award in Austin on Friday.

The Star of Texas Awards honor peace officers, firefighters, and emergency medical first responders who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.

In 2010, a drunk driver crashed a sports car head on into Sheets patrol car, leaving her with serious injuries that brought her career to an end earlier than she'd hoped.

Officer Sheets retired in May after more than 16 years on the force.
