COLLEGE STATION, Texas A new elementary school and the location for an alternative school were two key items approved at the College Station ISD School Board meeting Tuesday night.
The board approved purchasing the damaged and vacant College Station Conference Center on George Bush Drive for $788,430 from the city.
The district plans on building a new Timber Academy which is a self-paced school by that location.
Elementary school number nine will be located on W. S. Phillips Parkway just west of the Castlegate Subdivision and opens in August 2015.
The school board also approved purchasing 30 buses for the district for $2,765,902.
