Bryan Police had a difficult time removing a College Station women from the HEB Store on Villa Maria.
Police say 44-year-old Marina Paulina Salazar-Serna was stopped just outside the store after loss prevention employees discovered she didn't pay for several items they saw her place in her purse. According to the arrest report, she had a bucket of olives, Suave hair products and a container of HEB Rotisserie Chicken Salad.
While waiting for officers to arrive, HEB employees allowed Salazar-Serna to use the restroom.
Police tried to remove her from the bathroom, but she resisted. Eventually, they got her into the loss prevention office. The police report says that, once in the office, she began to cry uncontrollably after being told she was going to jail for theft. When officers tried to arrest her, she punched one officer in the face and struck another above the eye.
Salazar-Serna continued to resist and complained she was in pain due to a rotator cuff problem. While she was being transported to St. Joseph Regional Healthsystem, the police report says she spit in the eye of a Bryan fireman.
Salazar-Serna was examined at St. Joe's and cleared to be booked into jail. It took officers nearly a half hour to get her back in a squad car.
She was arrested and charged with Harassment of a Public Servant, two counts of Assault on a Public Servant, Resisting Arrest and Transport and Theft $0-$50. She is in jail under $34,375 bond.
