A crew of oil field workers from Caldwell were in the right place at the right time on April 27th.

The Halliburton employees acted quickly when they rescued a bus load of Seguin ISD middle and high school students involved in school bus crash. The early morning wreck happened on Highway 123 about two miles south of Highway 46 in Guadalupe County.

Two children were treated at a Seguin hospital and two others with more serious injuries were airlifted to San Antonio for treatment.

The bus crashed into an 18-wheeler that was hauling gravel and after landing on its side, the bus caught fire. The school bus wasn't the only vehicle involved in the crash, two other cars were also caught up in the fiery wreck.

After getting the children safely out of the bus, the Caldwell crew also helped to direct traffic until emergency responders arrived on scene.

For their heroic efforts, fellow Halliburton employees honored their co-workers during a special luncheon held in Caldwell on Wednesday.
