Caldwell Independent School District has lifted its lock down at the high school, according to the district.
Superintendent Janet Cummings tells News 3 a student at the school threatened to harm himself or herself. Despite rumors of a hit list being found at the school, Cummings tells KBTX she is not aware of one.
According to Burleson County Sheriff Dale Stroud, deputies have been at the school in the common areas since about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The following text from CISD went out to parents Wednesday afternoon.
Parents you may have heard of a disturbance at the High School. The school is on Lock-Down at this time for precautionary measures. Officers are on site as well as administrators. All is calm and any further updates will be sent through this system. We appreciate your cooperation and patience in this matter.
Parents can pick up their children by coming to the school's front door.
It was only the high school campus that was on lock down.
News 3 will bring you updates as we get them. Reporter Rashi Vats will also be tweeting from Caldwell with the latest. Links to KBTX Facebook and Twitter pages are on the left.
