Calvert Football Coach Makes First Court Appearance on Drug Charges

Calvert High School Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Coylin Grimes made his first appearance in a Waco courtroom Tuesday on Federal drug charges.

Grimes was one of 14 people arrested last week in a drug case that started early last year.

He's charged with conspiracy to deliver cocaine and being an accessory to criminal activity.

A Federal judge set an arraignment and detention hearing for Grimes for this Thursday afternoon in Waco.

Under Grimes Calvert High School won the state 6-man football title in 2002.
