The Cameron Police Department, in conjunction with Scott and White Clinic and the Drug Enforcement Administration, will be conducting the semi annual drug take back program this coming Saturday, April 27, 2012 from 9:00am until 1:00pm at the Scott and White Pharmacy located off of Lafferty/State Highway 36 in Cameron.
Individuals may turn in any type of drugs, over the counter or prescription they wish to remove from their residence. In the five previous Take-Back events, DEA in conjunction with state and local partners have collected more than 2 million pounds (1,018 tons) of prescription medications which were removed from circulation.
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of these medications. Cameron Police Officers will be on hand to take the drugs back and assist.
