Cameron Man Arrested on Charges Stemming From October Drug Sweep

Milam County Sheriff David Greene reported that, Tyrone Jackson, one of the last suspects wanted in relation to an extensive eight month long investigation into narcotics trafficking, was arrested after turning himself in at the Milam County Sheriff’s Office.

In October of 2011 Milam County S.I.U. Investigator Mike Clore concluded an eight-month long investigation in which twenty-nine persons were charged with trafficking narcotics. To date all but one of the alleged drug dealers have been captured. Authorities are still seeking Samuel “Sammy” Wesson who was last reported to have fled to Ohio.

Six Milam County law-enforcement agencies comprised of about thirty Deputies, Officers, Constables and Highway Patrol Troopers assisted in serving 46 arrest warrants and the execution of five search warrants during the sweep in October of 2011. The search warrants resulted in additional cash and narcotics being seized and suspects being charged. The participating agencies included Cameron and Rockdale Police Departments, Constable Anderle and Constable Vaughn, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Ranger Matt Lindeman and the Milam County Sheriff’s Office.

Tyrone Jackson, a 33 year old resident of Cameron, was arrested and booked into the Milam County Jail for Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free-Zone, a third degree felony. He was arraigned on March 8 and bond was set at 10,000 dollars.
