WOLF PEN CREEK - Travel and Tourism month continued on a positive roll for the Bryan-College Station Convention & Visitors Bureau Monday, as more than 200 families packed into the Wolf Pen Creek park to participate in the BCS CVB's annual "Community Celebration".
"We're very pleased by the turnout," said B/CS CVB President & CEO Shannon Overby. "All day people had been worried about rain, and right after the event began, the clouds broke open a little and we actually had a good bit of sunshine. It turned out to be a perfect day for the event."
The event featured more than 30 booths, which offered attendees many different activities and prizes, from sno-cones to bounce houses and even live reptiles. The event was free for attendees, with the purpose of exposing the community to all the businesses that make travel and tourism possible in Bryan-College Station.
The BCS CVB's celebration of Travel and Tourism month continues next Tuesday, as the mayors of Bryan and College Station will showcase how much residents save on average in their taxes from travel and tourism. More information regarding that event will be released soon.
