A strong chemical odor forced the closure of the Wells Fargo Bank in Franklin and sent a few employees to the hospital as a precaution.

Bank managers say the chemicals used by a nightly cleaning crew were so strong a few employees experienced minor allergic reactions when they arrived at work Friday morning.

They were treated at a local hospital and released.

The bank is closed for the day as it works to fix the problem.

Managers will make the decision Friday night whether to reopen on Saturday.

The bank says customers can use the bank's ATM or any of the other locations in the Brazos Valley.
