It's a moment that's been over three years in the making.
Jackson Fulham, President and co-owner of the new Chicks store, eatery, and gas station in Bryan felt it was time B/CS had a pit stop worth stopping for.
"We noticed is that this community needs a store for what we have," said Fulham.
With 23 bathrooms, 18 gas pumps, a deli, and 12,000 square feet of retail space Chicks rules the roost.
"There is a lot invested here in manpower and dollars and we had some great help from the City of Bryan in getting this one going here," said Fulham.
"I think it's wonderful to have a new option, something different," said B/CS native John Young.
Young was the first person to check out Chicks and he's happy Highway 6 now has a conveniently located convenience store.
"I go to other places like San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston and I see the bigger, nicer gas stations. So this is nice, really nice," said Young.
This is the first Chicks to pop up, but if Bryan provides a nice nesting area, more Chicks could be hatching.
"How this store does it is where we see our success in the future," said Fulham.
In all, Chicks boasts 60 soda fountains and over 300 menu items. It will also be open 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
