A 15-year-old was critically injured Monday afternoon when he was hit by a car at the intersection of FM 2818 and Welsh Avenue, near A&M Consolidated High School in College Station.
Police say Joshua Odle was taken by medical helicopter to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin where he is listed in critical condition.
CSPD says the accident happened around 3:58 p.m.
Police say a Jeep Wrangler was westbound on FM 2818, approaching Welsh Avenue. Investigators say Odle was making his way northbound across Harvey Mitchell, attempting to move from the south side of the roadway to the north side. Police say the Jeep struck Odle as he made his way into the path of the Jeep.
The College Station Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, Accident Reconstruction, and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. The intersection of Harvey Mitchell and Welsh was shut down for about two hours while the crime scene investigation was conducted. The roadway has now been re-opened. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as Taylor Herzog, a 35 year old resident of Dallas.
