COLLEGE STATION Parking is always an issue on Saturdays during football season. When the Aggies are home at Kyle Field, the 80,000+ that turn up to see them have to park somewhere.
The College Station City Council is hearing a proposal Thursday night that could open up space for cars and RVs at a local park, for a fee.
City staff will present the idea of opening up space at Tarrow Park, off Holleman Drive, to cars and RVs for a period of three days on select weekends. The proposed fee is $10 per car per day and $30 per RV per day. The maximum stay for cars and RVs would be three days.
In materials attached to Thursday night's agenda, the city says they will require RV owners to get a permit from the Parks and Recreation Department, tent camping will not be allowed and permits won't be issued to anyone under 18 years of age.
If approved by the council at Thursday night's meeting, the proposed spaces and fees would go into effect immediately.
The city council workshop starts at 6 p.m. and the regular meeting starts at 7 p.m.
