College Station Will Rename Park After Officer Killed In The Line Of Duty

Updated: Thu 10:45 PM, Oct 25, 2012

A College Station Park will soon have a new name in honor of a peace officer killed in the line of duty.

Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann was shot and killed in August as he was trying to serve an eviction notice in College Station.

The City Council Thursday night voted unanimously to change the name of Southwood Athletic Park on Rock Prairie Road, to Brian Bachmann Community Park, in honor of the constable.

College Station's Parks and Recreation Department received more than 130 letters from people in support of the change.
