On 2/29/12, College Station Animal Control received a report of a dog bite that occurred in the 400 block of Walton on 2/28/12 between 1600-1700 hours. A loose Dachshund made its way into the victim’s backyard, and bit the victim during an attempt to capture the dog. The dog was able to escape the victim’s yard before it was successfully captured.
The victim described the dog as a brown or light brown Dachshund. The dog was also wearing a collar, possibly red, with multiple tags on the collar. The dog was last observed running north along Avenue A.
College Station Animal Control is asking for help from the public to locate the dog so rabies exposure to the victim can be ruled out. When located, the dog will need to be observed for ten days from the time of the bite for signs of rabies infection. If you have any information regarding the location of this dog, please contact the College Station Police Department at (979)764-3600.
