With baseball season in full swing Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, is one popular place.

10-year-old Peter Ramirez from College Station is getting his first look at the ballpark and his humming to himself might be to calm his nerves.

"I'm getting ready to throw the first pitch at the Astros game," said Ramirez, waiting for his call to the mound.

The baseball fan got an up close meeting with players and his favorite Astros second baseman Jose Altuve.

"My brother plays second base and Jose plays second base. And they're both pretty short," joked Peter.

The chance to throw out the first pitch is a dream come true for Peter and it's all part of his duties as the goodwill ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Houston Region.

"I'm very excited and nervous," said Peter with the baseball in his hand.

As Peter waited to hit the field, he couldn't get over how different, and how much grander the stadium looks in person.

"It's a lot bigger and more exciting than what it looks like," said Peter.

Then came the moment of truth. With his brother Sam by his side, Peter took the baseball, reared back, and threw a perfect strike, right into his favorite players glove.

"It's was really exciting," said Peter as he went off the field.

It's a simple act, putting a ball in a glove. But for Peter, it's a moment he'll never forgot

I asked Peter, "Is there anything better than that?"

"Nope," Peter said. "Not really," he finished.

Peter will serve as the MDA Goodwill Ambassador through the end of the year and he says his favorite event with the MDA is their annual gala and telethon.
