College Station Police Department Promotes Two Officers

Chief Jeff Capps and the College Station Police Department are honored to announce the promotion of two officers to the rank of Sergeant. The promotion reception will take place on Friday, March 2nd from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the City of College Station Council Chambers located at 1101 Texas Avenue.

The following officers will be promoted:

Officer Matthew Ford – Started working at CSPD in August 2005. Officer Ford is a native of Deer Park, Texas. He received his Associates degree from Blinn College and has attended Texas A&M University. Officer Ford is currently assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. He is a member of the SWAT Team, a Field Training Officer, a firearms instructor, a patrol rifle instructor, a TCLEOSE certified instructor, and a weapons armorer for the police department. Officer Ford has been a bicycle officer and he was Officer of the Year in 2010. He currently holds an Advanced Peace Officer Certificate.

Officer Jimmy Brown – Started working at CSPD in June 2000. Officer Brown briefly left CSPD in April 2006 to train officers in Iraq but returned in July 2007. He is a Bryan, Texas native and he has attended Blinn College. Officer Brown is currently assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. He is a Field Training Officer, a TCLEOSE certified instructor and an Intoxilyzer Operator. Officer Brown has been a bicycle officer and a member of the SWAT team. He currently holds a Master Peace Officer Certificate.
