A cookie competition helped raise thousands of dollars for the Children's Miracle Network.

Blue Baker raised money for the network. One -hundred percent of the sales from cookies today went to the organization. Children's Miracle Network pays for surgeries and treatment for sick kids who would otherwise not be able to afford it.

Kids and parents had a good time in the parking lot out side of the Blue Baker in College Station.

The children jumped around in the moon bounce, played games, got their faces painted and decorated delicious cookies. The big part of the day was the cookie competition and kids ate as many cookies as they could in minutes to win the titles of king or queen of their age division.

Kristin Kirch got a surprise at the event.

"We wanted to just kind of support them and be part of the community, where they give back to the community and then fact that we won cookies and the cookie eating contest was just extra, it was awesome too, " said Kirch.

KBTX staff was on hand to show support. Anchor Michael Oder, Meteorologist Shel Winkley and his wife, and producer Breanne Muldrow from KBTX competed against staff at Candy 95.1 FM in a cookie show down.

Both teams were tied at 21 cookies, but the Candy 95.1 FM group broke the tie and won by one cookie.

About $4,500 was raised.
