COLLEGE STATION - The College Station Fire Department says it was able to quickly douse a house fire in the College Station neighborhood of Edelweiss.

Investigators say the fire broke out just after 6:30pm in the 200 block of Marta Street.

Crews arrived to find the garage engulfed in flames and were able to keep the fire contained to the garage and attic. Fire investigators say they do not know what caused the fire.

Bart Humphreys with CSFD says a family of five was home at the time the fire sparked, but they were all able to escape.

Heavy smoke damage was reported throughout the house, and we're told the family will be staying elsewhere until repairs can be made.
