With word that Hebert's hasn't locked up a new location, the pot is stirring in B/CS and people are rushing to get a taste of their cajun cooking.
"We've been coming here for years. We'd hate to see them leave," said Thomas Merchant.
Thomas and his wife Sharon waited in line for 15 minutes just to get one last bite before having to wait for Hebert's to find a new home.
"They'll stay here in town hopefully. We'll find them," said Thomas.
"My father is cajun so I've been eating cajun food since I was a little pipsqueak," said Dave Stelly.
Stelly is another longtime faithful customer desperate to find a resolution to Hebert's home headache.
"We should open up an Hebert's Club. Open up a new eating spot," said Stelly.
Some are even taking pictures just so they can remember one of the most popular lunch stops for Aggies.
"I know it's the last week so we'll have lunch here. I just took a picture for the memory," said A&M grad student Yaneshih Wang
"We're selling out of food, I've got a little bit of nothing left," said owner Mark Hebert.
The high demand is helping keep the deal that fell through off of Mark's mind.
"I didn't expect it at all. It was like a big punch in the face by Mike Tyson," said Hebert.
And after Wednesday, it'll be decision time for Mark and his family.
"I'm just really hoping and praying that we find something. I really am," said Hebert.
Hebert's Cajun Food will be closed over the weekend and be back open for lunch on Monday. The owners say they hope they can get a store up and running in time for the fall semester.
In the meantime, the folks at Village Foods and the Stover Brothers Café have offered to house Hebert's Cajun Food rent free until they can find a new home. There's been no word on if the Hebert's have accepted that offer yet.
