A College Station man and woman are dead after a major accident in Grimes County
According to DPS, the accident happened around 10 p.m. Saturday. Investigators say the victim’s blue 2012 Toyota Corolla was leaving a stop sign on the intersection of FM 2 and Highway 6 near Navasota when a silver 2003 Honda Accord heading south on HWY 6, toward Hempstead, T-boned the car.
Investigators say the Corolla failed to yield the right of way and was hit by the Accord. The Corolla flipped several times before landing in the median. The driver and passenger of the Corolla were pronounced dead on scene.
DPS officials tell us the 55-year-old man was not wearing a seatbelt while the 46-year-old female was wearing one.
The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of the family.
The driver of the Accord did not suffer any injuries. DPS officials say he is a 55-year-old man from Navasota.
