Dallas Mavericks Honoring Madisonville Teen Who Drowned Saturday

A Madisonville teen who died on Saturday is being recognized by the Dallas Mavericks.

15-year-old Jarad Davis was an athlete and youth group leader who drowned in a pond on Saturday during a back-to-school church gathering in Madison County.

The Mavericks posted his picture with the following statement on their Facebook page.

"The Dallas Mavericks would like to send our condolences to the friends and family of Jarad Davis. Jarad passed away this past Saturday and was one of our biggest fans. What a great smile. R.I.P. Jarad Davis."

His funeral is set for Wednesday, September 12 at 2 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Madisonville.
