BURLESON COUNTY, Texas A quiet neighborhood near Somerville Lake in Burleson County was the scene of an intense police search Sunday night.
Christine Labertew with the Burleson County Sheriff's Office said a woman was working outside her home on Woodlands Drive around 11 p.m., when she was ambushed by two men.
"She was outside in her yard, and they had taken her from outside and forced her into her residence," said Labertew.
Once inside, Labertew said the crooks stole cash and a gun, then took off into some nearby woods. Deputies, along with state troopers and park rangers scoured the woods for about two hours searching for the men, but turned up empty handed.
"It's very heavily wooded back there, they searched all around," said Labertew.
Labertew said the crooks could be anywhere, and since the victim didn't get a good look at her attackers, investigators don't have much to go on.
"She knew it was two males from their voices," said Labertew. "She thinks she caught a glimpse of black clothing, but that's all she was really able to see."
Investigators said the victim was unharmed. Once caught, officials said the suspects could face aggravated robbery charges.
