Early Morning Apartment Fire Sends One to Hospital

An early morning apartment fire in Bryan sent one person to the hospital.

It happened a little before 2 a.m. Monday morning at the Saddlewood Apartments on Wellborn Road.

We're told that the fire broke out near the front door of an apartment.

One woman was home at the time.

She was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.

Nearby residents were temporarily evacuated as a precaution but the damage was limited to the one apartment.

No word yet on a cause.

No other injuries were reported.
