An elderly woman who was saved by a Bryan man earlier in the week is in critical condition.
Tuesday, the Bryan man braved flames of a burning home to save an elderly woman, carrying her out on his back.
Doris Erkanbrak, 80, was hospitalized for smoke inhalation injuries after that fire, which destroyed a large portion of her home.
She was transported to St Joseph’s hospital in Bryan. Her relatives tell News 3 that she remains in critical condition.
A fund has been set up for donations at any First Victoria bank to help pay for medical expenses and home damage costs. It's listed under the Ercanbrack name.
The family tells us they are grateful for the support they have received so far.
