Failed U-Turn Leaves Driver in Navasota Dead

UPDATE: Navasota Police have released the identity of the driver killed in a fatality accident Wednesday night. 74-year-old Lee Morozink, of Round Rock, TX, was killed while trying to make a U-Turn on North Business 6 near Emerald Drive.

Morozink was driving a 1994 Ford Aerostar van when 33-year-old Stacey Becker, of Anderson, TX, hit him.

Police don't expect any charges to be filed.

PREVIOUS STORY:
One person is dead after an accident in north Navasota early Wednesday evening.

Police say the driver of a van had pulled over onto the shoulder on North Business 6 near Emerald Drive as the driver headed south around 5:00 p.m. NPD believes one vehicle successfully passed the van.

Then, when the van's driver tried to make a U-turn, an on-coming pickup reportedly T-boned the van, killing its driver.

The truck's driver refused to be transported by first responders.

No one else was injured.

Police have not released the name of the person who died pending notification of next of kin.
