HEARNE We’ve learned the identity of a man who was killed in a car accident in Hearne.

On November 7th, Hearne Police and Robertson County EMS responded to the 1400 block of W. Brown Street in reference to an overturned vehicle.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel learned 40-year-old Dondrick Moore of Hearne was traveling westbound on Brown Street when he flipped his 1992, Chevrolet extended cab pickup and struck a concrete culvert, causing the vehicle to be engulfed in fire.

Moore was the only person inside the vehicle.

Moore leaves his mother and father five children, three brothers, one sister, special aunt and a host of family and friends. On Sunday, November 10th the Hearne community held a candle vigil. Family members tell News 3 that streets were blocked off for the event.

“He was always smiling and would give you his last and would lend a hand to help,” said Demetrice Moore. “He was brought up to ‘Treat others how you want to be treated.’ “

A funeral for Dondrick is set for Saturday November 16th at 1 p.m. at Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church in Hearne. Moore will be laid to rest in Gause, at Peaceful Rest cemetery.
