A&M sophomore J.J. Rodriguez stayed home this spring break just to see the Aggie women hit the floor.

"They're playing really good so we're excited about this game," said Rodriguez.

J.J. is one of thousands of fans here for the start of the NCAA Women's Tournament and he thinks the Aggies will have a big advantage opening up the first round of the tourney in Aggieland.

"It means a lot to have the home crowd behind them. The 12th man is always a big help," said Rodriguez.

But there is competition in town. Eric Barnett came all the way from Arkansas to see his team play.

"Pretty much all the home games we've won so it's exciting to see what we can do," said Barnett.

The four teams in town for the tournament will face off at Reed arena with the Aggies being the highest seed.

Hopes are high for a repeat when it comes to the national title.

"We got a good bracket I think so I think we'll go pretty far," said Barnett.

Texas A&M will face off against Albany on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. with the winner moving on to play for a shot at the Sweet 16.
