A Bryan woman is dead after a crash involving an 18-wheeler in Hays County.
KEYE-TV in Austin, citing DPS, reports that Dawn Percival, 72, was killed around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday when the big rig hit her car on Highway 21 between FM 2720 and FM 150 northeast of San Marcos.
Witnesses report Percival's car went off the highway for some reason, then over-corrected into the oncoming 18-wheeler, causing a fiery wreck. Percival's car was hit on the driver's side.
The 18-wheeler was carrying seven pickups. It ended up in a ditch, with some of the trucks it was hauling breaking loose. Its driver was last listed in stable condition at University Medical Center Brackenridge.
An autopsy is set to be conducted on Percival.
