From restaurants, to shops, live music, and poetry there seems to be something for everyone during First Friday in Downtown Bryan.
It was a picture perfect Friday night and businesses are benefiting from the monthly event.
The streets are crowded and there's lots to see, hear and eat too.
Ashley and Matthew Ward of Bryan brought their kids for Pizza at Mr. G's and enjoy First Friday in Downtown Bryan.
"We're really excited about it, 'we certainly enjoy it.' "I think each time we come it's even more enjoyable just having more shops open," they said.
Patranella's Bakery just opened its doors for the first time and wanted to be Downtown.
Loretta Patranella already had a dozen customers their first hour open.
"This was the hub of town when I was a kid. I mean you know we went to Woolworth's we went to Parker-Astin. You know this is where it was at and it's wonderful to see it come back," Patranella said.
First Friday has grown from its humble beginnings. The very first one ever was here at the Frame Gallery in July 2005.
"Downtown is changing it's not the same as it was several years ago," said Frame Gallery Owner Greta Watkins.
Watkins pioneered the event to give her business and others a boost.
"I've heard from a bank that has several customers downtown that on Monday he can tell it's been a first Friday, because they've made some good deposits," she said.
A vibrant event where the crowds keep coming.
Next month's First Friday will also be time for Art Step, with events showcasing art and culture.
Meanwhile the newest addition, Patranella's Bakery celebrates their full grand opening serving breakfast and lunch on Tuesday.
