Five Consol Students Qualify for National Business Contest

Out of the 37 CSISD students who recently participated in the state Business Professionals of America (BPA) Leadership Contest in Houston, five A&M Consolidated High School students qualified for the national contest in three events.

Amanda Matthews, Samantha Wang, Jessie Wu and Kelly Zhou earned second place in the Administrative Support Team category to qualify, while Brooke Cohen qualified with a fourth place finish in Advanced Accounting. Zhou also qualified as an individual by placing fourth in the Database Applications contest.

In addition four Consol students placed high enough to be named national contest alternates: Emily Miaou (3rd place - Financial Math & Analysis), Mark Ebbole and Travis Stebbins (4th place - Computer Animation Team, and Wang (7th place - Fundamental Accounting

The national contest will be held in Orlando, Fla., May 8-12.
